Chevalier Orfeo “Chuck” Trombetta, Jr, Exarch of the Exarchate of the USA

Retired US Army Officer; former Department of Justice senior Security Officer/Deputy US Marshal; former George H.W. Bush political appointee assigned to the US Department of Labor as Executive Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans Affairs; and, former owner/CEO of private International Security and Operations business. Former Commander-General of the Military Order of Foreign Wars. Formerly served 16 years as an Army Reserve Ambassador (VIP 5-Major General Equivalent).

Became member of OSCM in 2008. Awarded Ami Du Patriarcat Medal and Exarchate of the USA Distinguished Service Medal. Initially appointed as Director of Special Projects, then Bailie and was promoted/selected as Exarch in 2015. Recently extended by Master of the Order for 5 additional years. My priorities: growing the list of charities the Exarchate supports, providing maximum support to Patriarch, growing the Exarchate, fine-tuning ceremonies of Investiture, and ensuring participation of all Members. Celebrating my Christianity!

Chevalier Nicholas Caramanica, Administrative Officer of the Exarchate

Retired as a U.S. Air Force Officer in June 1992. Held Air Force and Joint Service leadership positions in the U.S., the Pacific, and Europe. Held the position of Logistics Negotiator for wartime support in Italy as well as Logistics Planner for the U.S. deployment to Europe by air. After retirement, worked as an Information Technology (IT) consultant for many U.S. Government Agencies. Creator and sole proprietor of the IT Management Consulting Company.

Was inducted as a Knight of the OSCM in 2018. Awarded the Ami du Patriarcat award. Volunteered to assist in designing and maintaining a new website for the Order. Also volunteered to fill the position as the new Administrative Officer of the Exarchate in 2020, which includes duties as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Exarchate. Recommended for this position to the International Order and approved for this position by the International Order in 2020.

Chevalier Kent Clark, Director of Admissions and Honours

Retired US Army Officer, former Senior Advisor to the House Appropriations Chairman Emeritus and former CEO of AMVETS National Service Foundation. Former Commander-General of the Military Order of Foreign Wars. Currently the Founder, Chairman & CEO of CAG Federal. Kent helps numerous Nonprofit organizations and his Community with assistance and mentoring.

He was inducted into the OSCM in 2016. Awarded Ami du Patriarcat Medal. Appointed as Director of Admissions and Honours in 2018 and continues to serve in this Senior Leadership role within the Exarchate of the USA. He was appointed to the International Order Leadership Council in 2019. He also served on the 2019 Investiture Committee as Master of Ceremonies. He is currently on the 2021 International Investiture Planning Committee.

Dame Elizabeth Trombetta, Director of Special Projects

Mother of 2 children and housewife of 40 years. Former government contractor with SRA, government contractor with VETS Inc., and former employee of Social Security Administration as an Instructor, Benefits and Claims Authorizer. Also, a Pre-School and Elementary School Teacher. Taught Christian Education for approximately 10 years.

Became a member of OSCM in 2013. Awarded the Ami du Patriarcat Medal. Initially appointed as Deputy Director of Special Projects. In 2015, became Director of Special Projects and Protocol and continues in this position. Projects involved the identification and procurement of Crusades-era memorabilia for display during OSCM Investitures. Also involved with protocol issues in the production of OSCM Investitures and formal events and hosting International Order dignitaries.

Chevalier Ambassador (R) Michael Gfoeller, Consul to the Exarch

Michael Gfoeller is an independent consultant on international politics and security matters. He served from 1984-2010 as a US Foreign Service Officer. From 2008-10 he was the Senior Political Adviser to General David Petraeus. From 2004-08, he was Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Riyadh. Mr. Gfoeller is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Inducted into the Order in 2008. Awarded to Ami du Patriarcat award and the Medal of Merit Constantini Magni, First Class. Currently Deputy Bailie for the Bailiwick of Saint George. Also performs duties as Consul to the Exarchate of the USA and is integral part of the Executive Leadership of the Exarchate of the USA.

Chevalier Archbishop Andrew McMenamin, Chaplain and Spiritual Advisor to the Exarch

Archbishop Andrew McMenamin is an ordained Lutheran Minister. He was born in Tipperary, Ireland and entered the United States Navy in 1980, a year after he arrived in the USA. He was medically retired after serving 35 years on active duty and is a Wounded Warrior Alumni. He has graduate degrees in ministry, psychology, and healthcare management. His passion for service to others has led him to serve as a Law Enforcement Chaplain, a Fire and EMS Chaplain, a Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Mental Health Clinician and Chaplain, a Community Emergency Response Team Member, and a Guardian Ad Litem (Count Appointed Special Advocate).

He was inducted into the OCM in 2016 and was appointed Chaplain of the Exarchate. Awarded Ami du Patriarcat Medal. He is available for spiritual advice and counsel.

Chevalier Christopher Herndon, Bailie of the Bailiwick of St. George

Colonel Christopher V. Herndon, USA, (Retired) served in the U.S. Army for over 30 years. He was assigned to the Army Staff, the Joint Staff, and Office of the Secretary of Defense. He earned a Master of International Affairs Degree; an Advanced Certificate in Middle East Studies from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University (NY); and studied International Human Rights Law at Oxford University. He is a non-resident Fellow, National War College (Washington, D.C.) and guest lecturer at many Universities and Colleges. He is currently national Commander-General of the Military Order of Foreign Wars.

He was inducted into the OCM in 2008. Awarded the Ami du Patriarcat Medal. Currently serves as the Bailie of the Bailiwick of St. George. Provides assistance at Investitures as required.

Chevalier Mark Hartell, Bailie of the Bailiwick of St. Helena

Active duty US Army Officer. Serves in various leadership positions for humanitarian, veterans, and faith-based organizations.

Became member of OSCM in 2009. Awarded the Ami du Patriarch Medal in 2011. Provides assistance at Investitures as the Master of Ceremonies. Elected to US Corporate Board of Directors from 2010-2015 and 2017-Present. Elected as Bailie in 2017 and appointed to the OSCM Government Council.

Chevalier Gary Hoitsma, Bailie of the Bailiwick of St. Mark, the Apostle

Communications strategist, government affairs professional. Former Reagan Administration appointee at the Federal Highway Administration. Communications Staff with Reagan presidential campaign, the Republican National Convention, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and a U.S. Senator. Currently affiliated with a Washington, DC-based government affairs firm.

Inducted into the OSCM in 2010, elected Bailie in 2015. Awarded the Ami du Patriarch medal. Always inspired by President Reagan’s vision of American freedom — including religious freedom — as a force for good in the world, and his call to instill in America an “informed patriotism,” grounded in thoughtfulness and knowledge.

Chevalier Robert Meyer, Bailie of the Bailiwick of St. Olympiada

Currently works in the Industrial Welding Supply business as an Operations Manager and Director of transportation/ Safety Director/ Quality Control. Former United States Army. Trained as a Transportation Specialist.

Was inducted into the OSCM in 2013. Awarded the Ami du Patriarcat award. Since joining the OSCM, he served as a Vice Bailie for 3 years in the Bailiwick of St. Olympiada. He currently serves as the Bailie for the Bailiwick of St. Olympiada. He has coordinated and worked on many Charitable projects for the Bailiwick while living in the New Jersey area. This includes collecting donations, purchasing food items, and determining who and how to deploy these donations, food items, and other essential items to the needy persons requiring assistance. He has provided essential support to the Exarch during the conduct of Ceremonies associated with Investitures.
